This past weekend, Jonathan and I went to Kirby’s community outreach in Daphne, AL, and while we were in that part of the world, we definitely hit up Pensacola Beach and the USS Alabama. It was Jonathan’s first time to Alabama and Florida so that was kind of exciting. We definitely stopped at all the Welcome road signs, which I’ve never done! We didn’t take our pictures by it (I’m not photogenic) but we got the picture still the same.
1,000 some odd miles later, we made it back to the greatest state ever, TEXAS!
I highly recommend visiting a battleship or a air craft carrier or something. The USS Alabama fought in World War II. They have it nicely restored and show you how living conditions were aboard the ship. I have to admit, I would not have been a happy camper sleeping in some of those bunks, but Jonathan sure looked at home!
